At Comtex Communications, we understand public safety. It’s been an integral part of our everyday business since 1976.

Back then, we focused on complex radio communications systems and dispatch centers. But as technology emerged, we branched out to sophisticated mobile data systems, and found a receptive market in city and county service providers. As of today, our dedicated staff of engineers and technicians has successfully engineered, designed, and installed large mission-critical, public safety radio systems throughout Texas.

Along the way, we’ve strived to offer the highest level of customer service, and as our company grew, so did our relationships with public safety staff. In the fall of 2003, several emergency management coordinators approached our president, Harry Maddox, about the possibility of expanding our offerings to include mobile command posts. Little did we know that those informal discussions would lead to a whole new business for Comtex.

We quickly found that the primary builders of communications trailers were “trailer builders” - and while the trailers were good, the communications were poor, at best. We determined there was a gaping need for communications experts in the mobile command industry; thus, Comtex Communications debuted…as a communications company that builds mobile command posts.

In April, 2009, we were awarded a GSA schedule contract. That means we can now offer our most-favored-customer discounts to all entities eligible for GSA procurement.

Then, in July of 2009, we were also awarded a TXMAS contract, allowing us to offer command posts to any Texas entity eligible for TXMAS procurement.
